Osteopathy and Physiotherapy in Mainz

As an osteopath and physiotherapist, …

… I place the utmost importance on the meaningfulness and sustainability of all types of treatments. This naturally includes a thorough diagnosis. Only on a meaningful and sound diagnosis can a sensible and sustainable therapy be based.

Philosophy

Naturally, the focus of our consideration is the treatment of the “WHOLE PERSON”. This means a treatment that takes into account the unity of body, mind, and soul. Since the patient’s knee joint has more to offer than muscles, tendons, and ligaments, namely a sensing and sensitive being, one cannot only look at and treat the physical structures in isolation but must also consider the metaphysical structures and include them in the efforts to give the patient a healing impulse (therapy).

Every form of therapy, of any kind, attempts nothing else but to direct the self-healing powers of the human and support them in their work so that the healing process, which would also occur without therapy (perhaps more incomplete, definitely slower), is accelerated and targeted. The self-healing powers of humans are called “Dynamis or life force” by the homeopath, or the osteopath calls them “Primary Respiration”, without which no healing would occur. The Dynamis processes the body like the weather does the field. Without it, no fractured bone would heal or a gaping skin wound. In medias res, the primary focus is on maintaining physiology and not correcting the misalignment of a bone. This means that the broken bone is also healed by it, even if it is fixed at a 90-degree angle instead of lengthwise. This is where we as therapists come into play. Similar to the farmer who cultivates and plants his field.

The ancient Greek term “therapeutos” means “servant”. We now serve the patient by giving his Dynamis a direction and with this, we try to achieve an optimal healing result. For this, there are now the most diverse instruments and aids (treatment methods).
